Cleanses are temporary diets that are used to clean
out your body of unwanted toxins and old, built-up crud. In general, you eat
only very healthy foods, mostly whole plants foods, and you can also take
some supplements that help to sweep out the intestinal tract and colon.
Master Cleanse
One of the most well known is the Master Cleanse.
The Master Cleanse
involves drinking only lemonade made from organic fresh lemon juice. Organic
Grade B maple syrup, water and Cayenne pepper. No solid foods are eaten for
the entire cleanse period, which is a minimum of 10 days.
There are some programs that have been written about
the Master Cleanse
to aid in its success, which are available in the

Cleanses can boost weight loss efforts because they
allow the body an opportunity to clear out old, unwanted buildup from the
body, and that can include fat.
Colon Cleanse
Another common type of cleanse is the colon cleanse.
Most people don't want to talk about the state of their colons. However, the colon is
very absorptive and over time, undigested meat and other foods cause mucus
buildup in the colon. This buildup produces toxins that enter the blood's
circulation, poisoning the body. These toxins cause many unwelcome symptoms
such as fatigue, headaches, and weight gain.
Of course, there are also cleanses that aren't quite
as extreme. Not everyone will be able to forego solid food for 10 or more
days at a time. For many people who eat a standard American diet, simply
cutting out most processed foods will function the same way as a cleanse.
